Elmie Rabe

Hi, I’m Elmie! I’m from Cape Town, South Africa and I’ve been a Chef for 20+ years, I have a degree in Culinary and Pastry Chef, Nutritional Food Science Degree, and I'm a certified personal trainer. My passion for cooking started from a young age, when my Gran would bring me alongside her in the kitchen. She always used a vintage set of utensils, and it was so special to me when she finally allowed me to use them. She was an extraordinary woman and cook.

In 2010, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and I had to make some serious lifestyle changes. That is when I started trying alternative cooking methods, creating treats and meals that is gluten and dairy free, and uses little protein. 

If you know me, you know I always have a cup of coffee in my hand or very close by. The bold aroma and strong flavor is what get's me up in the morning. I love to incorporate coffee into my recipes whenever I can!

Being in the kitchen is where I can truly be me, it’s the space where I can be free with little rules and tell a story with the food I create.
