Hi, I’m Elmie! I’m from Cape Town, South Africa and I’ve been a Chef for 20+ years.
I have a degree in Culinary and Pastry Chef, Nutritional Food Science Degree, and I'm a certified personal trainer. My passion for cooking started from a young age, when my Gran would bring me alongside her in the kitchen.
In 2010, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and I had to make some serious lifestyle changes. That is when I started trying alternative cooking methods, creating treats and meals that is gluten and dairy free, macro counting. My health depended on healthy choices, healthy food and not just the treatment that I had to go through.
I made a promise to myself that I will never take my health for granted. I would like to part of this new journey where food is not your diet but becomes part of your lifestyle.
